We also don't know if they were playing for longer, and simply chose those 19 minutes out of maybe 1 hour of playtime. It would make more sense to say something like 20 minutes, or 15, but they specifically say 19. They also don't show you what that 19 minutes entail, were they sitting in Lamplight Town clicking the membership button? 19 is a very oddly specific number, and I have no doubt that it is just that.
A mode that focas' on the math problem part of the game. First off, while no one does, if you are using Prodigy for learning at school, you should be in the school 'mode' of the game. While at face value that sounds terrible, you have to look at what they are doing. They say that in 19 minutes of play they saw 16 ads and only 4 math problems. This means that all those statistics Prodigy has are available to practically everybody. Prodigy is a free to play game, ensuring that tens of millions of kids are able to play without any up front cost. Prodigy is a math game, yes, and it DOES help kids learn math, the statistics on Prodigy's website are true, but Prodigy is also a business, and as a business it is their job to make money. From the very start of this we see a problem, they don't see Prodigy for what it is. Prodigy puts selling memberships above teaching math. I disagree with much of what they had on there, so let me rant a little (LIST 3k mode).
